About Hello Juicing
Who’s steering the ship at Hello Juicing?
Hi there, I’m Mikke!
First, let me ask you one thing:
Are you here because you’re asking yourself:
- How do I start juicing?
- What veggies and fruits should I use to lose weight?
- Should I only buy organic produce for juicing?
- What are the biggest mistakes I should avoid when juicing?
- What is the best juicer for me (that doesn’t break the bank)?
Sound familiar? Awesome!
Whether you’re just a newbie juicer or you’re simply looking for new inspiration and juicing recipes to your routine…
… you’re in the right place!
My story: What juicing means to me
I started Hello Juicing to share everything I’ve learned about how juicing and healthy, nutricious foods can:
- improve your health
- help you lose weight
- feel better overall
The first memory I have about juicing is from when I was just a kid: my grandma would always use the red and black currants from her garden to store a little bit of summer in a juice bottle.
When winter would arrive and we’d play all day long in the snow, she’d warm up some of that currant juice. And just like that, I’d be thinking about last summer again.
And while that was ages ago, I’m still a sucker for fresh and conserved juices packed with all-natural, revitalizing vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients.
Throughout the years, I’ve been a vegetarian, a vegan, you name it…
And even though I always keep coming to the same conclusion (that moderation is key to improving your health), I’ve learned SO much about healthy foods even though I’m not a vegan anymore.
This website is my way of carrying on all that knowledge into other diets I try out, and I’m always curious for learning more about taking care of my body and well-being.
Why I started Hello Juicing
The biggest reason for me to start this website and blog about juicing and its benefits is this:
The flood of information about new trending diets and shortcuts to health and happiness can feel overwhelming and confusing.
How should we eat to feel healthy and energetic?
Is a plant-based diet the only way to go?
Over time, I began analyzing and researching different nutritional claims and miracle diets. And even though the Internet and my local bookstore were packed with helpful information about how we should nourish our bodies, there were a few big problems:
- Most of the information available was too black-and-white. Every diet out there was seen as a cure-it-all for a plethora of conditions and illnesses. And while that may sound good, most books and diets were missing out on one important point: We’re all individuals. What may work for me might not be the best solution for you.
- Losing weight and living a healthy lifestyle is made into rocket science. While consuming healthy foods and exercising regularly is all it takes, the next miracle diet is always just around the corner.
- People seem to have lost touch to their own bodies and well-being. While most diets aim at achieving a more healthy lifestyle, we’re often focused on looking better to fit into a social norm. And while there’s nothing wrong with fighting obesity, for example, we should be mindful about what our bodies need and what we feed them.
- The overload of information online is confusing. If you want to take care of your health and your body, why would you eat Vegan Chocolate Chip Muffins, Atkins Ice Cream, or Paleo Pizza? These unhealthy “healthy” foods are often just misleading rather than helpful.
Of course, I’ve never met a person who wouldn’t benefit of adding vegetables and healthy foods to their diet and exercising regularly.
But all in all, it just feels like taking care of our bodies is somewhat of a rocket science.
But here’s the thing: It’s not difficult to achieve a healthy body by giving it natural, nutritious foods.
Therefore, Hello Juicing is all about a no-bullshit approach to finding energy and health from the inside out.
I’m here to help you treat your body like it deserves to be treated.
After all, it’s the only body you have. So why not take as good care of it as you can?
The 4 Principles of Hello Juicing
In order to help you achieve a healthier lifestyle by adding more veggies and nutrients to your diet, I’ve summarized everything I’ve learned along the years into four key cornerstones for a healthier diet.
Hello Juicing follows these four simple but powerful principles to help you lose weight and take better care of your body:
Principle #1:
Juicing is merely a part of a healthy diet and lifestyle
When you’re starting out with juicing, you’re probably interested in improving your health, gaining more energy, and feeling better overall.
And while these goals are great (they’re mine as well!), what you want to do is to focus on the root cause of any problem you may have.
If you’re not feeling well or you’re carrying some extra weight around, make sure you understand what’s causing that issue. While juicing is a great way to fight a multitude of conditions, there are no shortcuts when it comes to taking care of yourself.
Therefore, be mindful about what types of foods you consume.
Principle #2:
Combine and complement juicing with other healthy choices in life
Yes, juicing is an amazing way to feel better overall. But if you want to achieve great results and lose weight, make sure you check other areas in your lifestyle as well.
Food and exercise are the most important things you should think about. If you’re fighting headaches, fatigue, or other illnesses, make sure you find out the root cause of it.
Don’t just treat the symptoms with medicine.
Instead, think of food and exercise as your medicine.
And while they can’t cure everything, you’d be damn surprised by how many problems and issues people have nowadays and how their diets and eating habits affects (or even causes) them.
To get things started, as yourself:
- What do I normally eat?
- How am I nourishing my body?
- Am I giving my body enough nutrients, vitamins, and minerals?
- Do I smoke or drink?
And hey, I’m not saying you should give up your guilty pleasures completely. In fact, I love pizza!
But the trick is to find a healthy way of consuming foods that could be making you sick.
The solution to your problems is to achieve a better, healthier lifestyle overall. Finding a holistic approach to taking care of your body and your well-being is key to success with juicing.
And as always, make sure you consult with your doctor before changing your diet or exercise routine.
Principle #3:
There is no all-in-one or one-size-fits-all diet out there
We are all human beings but at the same time we’re all individuals. What may work perfect for you may not be the best solution for me.
Juicing is a great way to improve your health overall. But the results you achieve can be dramatically different from others who are juicing.
There are so many factors affecting the outcome, like your current diet, lifestyle, weight, and your overall starting point, that it’s impossible to give universal, one-size-fits-all solutions to losing 10 or 20 pounds in a given period of time.
Instead, start by figuring out what your individual goals for juicing are. Make sure you consider any intolerances, allergies, or sensitivities to certain foods.
How you eat and what your goals for starting juicing are always individual. You’re 100% responsible for staying focused and disciplined until you reach those goals. I’m here to support you and help you out, of course. But at the of the day, you’re in charge of the changes you want to achieve!
Principle #4:
Change your patterns and habits to achieve sustainable, long-term results
If you really want to achieve long-term results with juicing and a healthy lifestyle, you need to change your old habits.
And while it might not always be easy, it’s worth it, trust me.
Thus, while I’m a big fan of occasional juice cleanses, they’re just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to achieving a healthy lifestyle.
If you’re feeling great after a 7-day cleanse, I’m sure you want to maintain that feeling, right?
Therefore, keep in mind that going back to your old eating habits isn’t going to help you in the long run. Any weight you lost or any energy you gained during your cleanse will be gone in a matter of days.
So, again, be mindful about how you want to take care of your body in the long run. If you want to achieve sustainable results and keep feeling better after your juice cleanse, remember to double-check all areas of your life for any unhealthy choices you might be making.
With that said, I’m here to help you out.
My goal is to help you find fresh inspiration and new ideas to set yourself a goal and follow through, while feeling empowered and knowing that even small changes in your diet and habits can have a huge impact on your overall health.
Having said that, what you’ll soon realize is that…
Feeling good overall starts with easy, healthy choices
That’s right!
Feeling healthy starts from the inside out.
